Research
Program
The main goals of our research program are to
evaluate technologies and solutions regarding specific pressing
access issues. Our work addresses the most significant problems
faced by people using today's technologies as well as next generation
technologies currently under development.
Current Generation Research Projects include:
- Testing industry solutions to the problem
(the middle mile delimma) faced by rural individuals trying to
get broadband access
- Examining the problems faced by wireless manufacturers
to produce mobile voice, video, and data services and applications
- Investigating the intelligibility effects
of telemedicine, distance learning, and e-commerce in rural america
- Developing strategies that would allow private
and public partnerships to deploy broadband services and applications
to rural america
Future Generation Research Projects include:
- Exploring, in conjunction with other
researchers, strategies for capitalizing on and changing the architecture
of future telecollaborative systems so that they would be usable
by individuals with limited technical skills.
